California) Following her “inner muse” and her passion for
healthy eating, Janis Dalessandro, President and founder of d’Oni
Enterprises, was inspired to create a unique line of gourmet sauces, which
puts the “haute” in heated-gourmet sauces.
Combining her expertise in corporate marketing,
(a seasoned marketer in the beauty industry), and her passion for healthy
eating, Ms. Dalessandro has developed a line of specialty and gourmet
sauces meant to enhance the flavor of the food, and provide quick and
easy ways to make each meal a culinary delight. Ms. Dalessandro has often
been asked how she came to be involved in the business of making “haute
sauces”, and her answer is quite simple, “I was a busy woman
with a full time career, and I didn’t have hours to spend preparing
gourmet meals. Yet, I wanted the food that I prepared to be healthy and
to have a gourmet flavor, and if I wanted that, I was willing to bet that
others did, too! Following what my inner wisdom was telling me, led me
to the creation of our first gourmet “haute sauce”.
Armed with her commitment to developing
healthy gourmet sauces with a unique flavor and marrying both eclectic
and ethnic flavors, this passionate gourmet created a blend of exotic
flavors, to create her popular marinade, Moondance Marinade. Acutely aware
that words can evoke powerful emotions, each of her unique sauces possess
names with a lyrical overtone, such as Moondance, Bold as Love, Burning
Desire, Feeling Groovy and Happy Together.
d’Oni Enterprises can take pride
in receiving first prize in the marinade category of the Fiery Food Challenge,
for their Moondance Marinade, the oldest and most prestigious product
judging competition in the zesty, spicy and hot food industry, presented
by Chile Pepper Magazine. As part of the honors, d’Oni Enterprises
is one of 38 companies to be invited by Chile Pepper Magazine to compete
in the Chile Pepper/Pepcid “Complete Heat” People’s
Choice Awards contest on Wall Street in New York City in 2001, where Moondance
Marinade was placed in the Top 10 off all products and categories amongst
the first prize winners. Their Bold as Love Honey Habanero Mustard has
garnered national recognition by winning top honors in its category in
one of the country’s preeminent specialty sauce and condiment awards
programs. The product was named First Place winner in the prestigious
2001 SCOVIE Awards, sponsored by Fiery Foods Magazine and placed again
in 2002. These are just a few of the coveted awards the gourmet haute
sauces have won, among many others in both professional and amateur contests.
The “symphony of fine gourmet sauces”
produced by d’Oni Enterprises includes: Moondance Marinade, Bold
as Love Honey-Habanero Mustard, Burning Desire Roasted Habanero Hot Sauce.
Following in the footsteps of their three successful product launches,
their Happy Together Grill Glaze Dip, a mouthwatering combination of orange
marmalade, chili and garlic, will soon be launched concurrently with their
Feeling Groovy Peanut Satay. These new releases in the d’Oni Enterprises
line of specialty heated gourmet sauces are sure-fire winners in the competitive
specialty heated gourmet sauce market!
Adding his own special blend of talents
to the success of their enterprise, husband David Dalessandro, brings
his artistic talents as a musician to his role as Vice President of Marketing
and Sales for d’Oni Enterprises, in collaboration with the founder,
Janis Dalessandro, to produce award winning marketing strategies for their
line of specialty sauces.
Using natural ingredients, whenever possible,
this successful husband and wife team, is continuously testing new products
in an effort to discover just the right balance of flavors that truly
complement main courses of meat, poultry, fish and vegetables, as well
as add a unique accent to the sauces that accompany them.
Passionate about giving back to their
community, d’Oni Enterprises has been committed to supporting many
charities from the ASPCA to the Red Cross, as well as creating partnerships
in their company to support college students. Making a difference in their
community is important to Janis and husband, David, and they represent
the new breed of entrepreneurs who strive to find the balance between
work, play and enriching their communities.

Davis, Senior Director, Meat, Seafood and Sushi of Bristol Farms expressed,

specialty sauces have become a Southern California favorite through the
support of their specialty gourmet retailers, such as Bristol Farms, Santa
Monica Seafood, Barbecues Galore, Hot Licks, Montecito Village Market
and Hows Markets.
Concurrent with the launch of their two
new products, d’Oni Enterprises are pursuing plans to expand their
distribution into Northern California markets along with the Pacific Northwest,
Colorado, Canada, New York and Arizona specialty-gourmet market.
